Today´s post is not about fashion nor beauty, but a very personal one. I would like to give you a little overview about how my pregnancy is coming along and how I am feeling.
Luckily, I didn´t have any difficulties with the infamous nausea and morning sickness. Except for a few little ailments and some tiredness which is completely common, I have nothing to complain about. Of course, there are days when I feel really uncomfortable and worn out, but these are really rare.
Before I got pregnant, I was always a bit afraid about how my body would cope with all the changes and the extra weight gain. I had this image that I would look like a bloated whale and that I couldn’t stop eating… But to be fair, I am quite happy about how easy and uncomplicated my pregnancy now actually is (though I never expected it to be as I had heard horrendous stories from other women). Up until today, I have gained between 16 and 18 pounds which is quite normal. Of course, the next and last two months will be the most difficult time and I am sure that I will add a few more pounds of weight, especially since the baby itself will grow a lot more before birth - but still, I have never been happier in my life.
Within the past seven months, I have tried to continue maintaining the healthy lifestyle that I have lived by before. Whenever I crave some sweets, I try to eat fruit, nuts or dried fruits such as dates instead. Of course I will have a muffin or cupcake occasionally, but I aim to resist most culinary seductions.
Exercise-wise, I am practicing prenatal yoga once a week and I have started to walk really long distances each day. Being outside and catching a breath of fresh air has gotten very important to me, and since I love wintertime and holiday season, I know that I will continue on taking long strolls.
These delicious and soft dates are filled with walnuts and topped with coconut sprinkles - I eat them whenever I am craving sweets :-)
Well, I sometimes can´t even realize that I am pregnant, let alone that I am already 30 weeks along! It is so surreal to think that in a matter of only a few weeks, my husband and I will no longer be alone and that our life will change forever. Even though we are extremely excited, we try to enjoy these last precious moments as a couple and make the most of our time before our little one arrives.
