Here we go with my first outfit-post from New York. Since many of you had asked my about my trip to New York and what I bought, I thought I´d combine this post with some info about shopping in New York and my actual purchases.

Whenever we start a holiday, the first thing my husband and I are gonna do (and the first thing on my mind to be honest) is start shopping. I always have a huge list of things I have seen online which I try to either snatch on sale or at least take a good look at before ordering/buying. Just like every year, we started our shopping tournament (I could say torture as well…) at department stores such as Saks, Bergdorf Goodmann´s, Bloomingdales and Barneys. Summer Sale had started a few days earlier and the city was absolutely crowded with many, many shopaholics, all on the hunt for the perfect bargain.

Sale periods in the USA are a lot different from Europe, because even at the beginning of sale season many products will aready be 50% off. Loyal customers are being rewarded with private presales and get the opportunity to shop their favorite items a few days earlier than anybody else - which might be the reason why many of the pieces I wanted had been sold out by the time that official sale had started. Well, first come, first serve, especially during sale times!

I have to admit that I was a bit overwhelmed by the huge range of sale items. You could find every brand and designer, even the lesser known ones, and so many beautiful pieces were on sale. Can you imagine that it took me nearly three hours on just one of Bergdorf Goodmann´s floors? However, at the end I didn´t buy as much as I thought I would. Even though I didn´t bring too many pieces with me (as I wanted to do a lot shopping), my size was sold out in most stores and many things I had wanted looked different from what I saw online. I am going to show you my purchases tomorrow and I am curious how you will like them!
