This autumn, YSL dedicates its makeup line to one of the most popular, most used and coveted textures of all time: leather. The “second skin”, as the luxurious, soft material is often called has strongly influenced the look of the french house´s new range of products:

The new line´s centerpiece is the fabulous and oh so chic Collector Fétiche Couture Palette ($60). Covered in a soft and smooth nappa leather case, the palette holds five beautiful eyeshadows. There is a shimmery caramel/bronze color, a luminous nude tone for highlights and three darker shades that can be used to create different kinds of the smokey eye: iridescent dark brown, matte black (to be used as an eyeliner) and deep green/dark blue.

YSL La Laque Couture No. 53 Taupe Grainé is an intense taupe color with hints of grey and very light silver glitter particles. The resulting texture is supposed to look like leather on the nails. I really like the touch of the grainy nails and the overall effect, even though I am usually not too fond of textured nail polishes (US $ 27).

For the upcoming season, YSL offers a lovely shade of its iconic YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in No. 210 Nude Acoustic. Even though the shade is very rosy and nude, it provides good coverage and leaves my lips soft and hydrated (US $ 35).

Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres color No. 40 Beige Peau is a warm toned and tan based beige lipstain. Upon application, the color looks a bit matte, but after a few minutes it will start to change into a warm rose tone and the glossy finish will make the lips appear more full.
