After a winter that seemed to stay on forever, I looks like we finally made it into spring, my favorite season. And just like we are undergoing a change in our wardrobe, shoes and bags, the warmer months are always a great time to try new and more playful make-up looks. In today´s post, I would like to give you an overview about Givenchy´s new collection and some of my favorite products.

Last week I had the chance to get an appointment with Givenchy´s International make-up artist Hocine Zheghichi. We decided to give the whole range form the current Croisière 2014 look a try and went for a mixture of bold red and green hues together with a warm and slightly bronzed complexion:

This look´s eyecatcher is most definitely the bright coral red lipstick. The intense color has a very strong orange undertone and is just perfect for spring and summer. It goes great with neutrals and blue/green shades, which is why I opted for a dark green eye make-up. Even though this particular lipstick is more creamy and shiny than my other lipsticks from Givenchy´s Le Rouge line, the color is very longlasting: after a full dinner my lips were still left with a fair amount of red due to its high pigmentation. To me, Givenchy´s Le Rouge Nr. 313 Fruit Defendu is a must-have for the upcoming season and beyond, and if you are still looking for the perfect red shade, I highly recommend you check this one out in store.

This powder is my absolute favorite product from the whole collection. Isn´t the design simply fabulous? I love the wonderful and playful look, and to be honest, it took me quite a few days until I could touch it since I didn´t want to destroy the nice structure. The Givenchy Terre Exotique Healthy Glow Powder comes in one shade (“Douce 2”), and judging from its middle brown color, I would say that it is meant for fair skinned ladies. The color is a warm bronzed brown without orange undertones (even though it looks a bit like it in the packaging) and it has a slight golden touch coming from a very fine golden shimmer. Once applied, you immediately get that beautiful and soft glow. And while the pigmentation is quite soft, you can slowly build it up on the skin for a more intense effect – a huge plus in my opinion. I really love this product, not only because of its beautiful design, but mostly because of its natural look and warm shade.

Resumé: The Croisière collection from Givenchy is definitely a winner. Rich, intense colors meet soft hues and create a perfect, sun kissed complexion. The bronzing powder is beautifully designed, and its warm terracotta shade is perfect for fair skinned women like me. Plus, the bright coral red lipstick is a must-have beauty item for the upcoming summer season.

Available as of now at select perfume stores.
