Love At First Sight
Dear all,
I´d like to thank you for your kind words, messages and sweet gifts that have reached me within the past week. Me and the little one are now at home and slowly getting used to our new life together. While I am currently very busy with nursing and taking care of the baby, things on the blog will hopefully be back to normal in a few weeks :-)

Pregnancy Does Not Come Easy…
… does it? These past few days have been such a major struggle that I wish for nothing more than this sweet little baby to come out of my belly and this maternity to be over. Ever since last Wednesday, I suddenly felt a huge pain in my lower back and pelvis due to the pressure that comes from my dropping belly and the baby´s weight. I am not exaggerating when I say that I haven´t slept in over five days, a situation that leads me (a usually very open-minded & friendly person and a positive thinker) to be in the worst mood ever, disliking everyone and everything around me and crying whenever I get the chance! Well, now I know why sleep deprivation is a method of torture…
However, until I am able to shoot another outfit for you guys, I thought it would be nice make another baby- and pregnancy-related blog entry:
2014 - A Year In Review
To me, 2014 is one of the most exciting years ever. I have seen, felt and experienced so many things that it seems as if time has somehow just flown by. At the beginning of 2014, I would have never imagined that today, a year later, I would be pregnant with my first child and being so close to my due date.
Nevertheless, I am more than thankful for everything that has happenend within the past months, and today, I would like to give you a little overview of some of my favorite moments:
Outfit: Cozy Cashmere & A Huge Baby Bump
The heading says it all: My bump has gotten huge within this past week! I was so lucky because my belly wasn´t that big and I could even fit into some of my regular (non maternity) tops, but ever since last Sunday it has grown so much that I have almost nothing left to wear. Well, I read that the baby will increase 1 kilo in weight during the last month of the pregnancy - and since I still have a few weeks left, I am guessing that my body´s circumference will grow as well :-)

I have to admit that I hesitated quite a bit to reveal my baby´s gender before birth. As I am a bit superstitious and always like to be on the “safe side” with everything, I wasn´t really sure to whether or not let you know if we were expecting a girl or boy…

Today´s look is an outfit I have worn just a few days ago to a little cocktail party. The black dress is from H&M´s regular collection and perfectly fits my growing belly - plus, I kind of believe that the slim cut and deep black shade make me look not as big as I currently am.
Since I knew that I would be standing a lot at that particular evening, I chose my Valentino Rockstud pumps in a chic eggplant color - they are the most comfortable High Heels I own, and I really wish that Valentino would make them in more colors.

Today´s post is not about fashion nor beauty, but a very personal one. I would like to give you a little overview about how my pregnancy is coming along and how I am feeling:
Outfit: The Perfect Rain Boots
If you live in a rainy city such as Cologne (or London), rain boots are an absolute must for everyday life. Last month, I finally found a pair that does both look chic and which is very comfortable - and they are made of rubber! I really like that they do not look like typical rain boots, but resemble much more a classic riding boot.

If there is one piece of clothing that you should always invest in- and I am very serious about this - it would be a good wool coat. A nice coat (e. g. made of cashmere or camel hair wool) will make the most casual outfit look chic and sophisticated within seconds, and to me, being the lazy dresser that I am, this is very important.
A few weeks ago when my bump hadn´t grown so much yet, I decided to buy this wonderful and cozy hooded coat by Max Mara. The fabric has a nice touch to it and I love how the simple design allows me to dress this coat up or down.

My Baby Shopping Wishlist
I would have never thought that my internet and shopping habits could change that much. But when I lie in bed nowadays, I usually skip all fashion blogs, magazines and online shops that I had frequented quite regurlary over the years. Because the new me (aka the mom-to-be) is now all about babys, nurserys and the best equipment for young and first-time parents.

After a year-long search, I finally found the most perfect denim jacket from AG Adriano Goldschmied. Made from the softest denim fabric ever, nothing beats this lightweight jacket when it comes to dressing for mild autumn days. For today´s look, I paired it with some simple skinny jeans, my beloved black ankle booties from IRO and a red Chanel handbag.

Dearest readers,
I am very happy to announce what some of you might have already guessed: I am pregnant! My husband and I are over the moon and we couldn´t be any more excited for what is set to come. Shop Le Monde will still revolve around fashion and beauty, but of course I will share my pregnancy updates and try to show you as many maternity looks as possible.
