Her beauty line will be in partnership with the Estee Lauder Cos Inc., with Burch signing a contract in 2011. Estée Lauder have a breadth and depth of experience in designer beauty lines, having worked with Tom Ford to create his popular fragrance and beauty products.
The cosmetics range will include a lipstick in pink-nude, a duo-purpose lip and cheek tint, a bronzer-blush palette and a retractable face brush. In addition, there will be a signature fragrance: It comes in vintage-style bottles that remind Burch of the ones on her mother’s vanity, and include vetiver, a scent her father always wore.
Both Burch and Estée Lauder are careful to clarify that this isn’t just another designer fragrance, but the beginnings of an entire brand. “We’re starting to build a foundation of a multicategory beauty company,” said Veronique Gabai-Pinsky, global brand president of the Aramis & Designer Fragrances division of the Estee Lauder Cos. It will be launched on September 26 in the US.
